Brian Dice is the Co-Founder of the Chemainus Monetary Foundation. After returning from Armstrong Atlantic University in Savannah, Georgia in 2004, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Brian engaged his passion for macroeconomics in his hometown of Chemainus.
This Presidential Honour Awardee (for receiving straight A’s in university) now enables local business owners to pursue their own financial independence through his joint business partnership with Ward Yeager in Financial
Planning, Insurance Brokering and Investment Management.
His longtime involvement in local business, including previous employment at Catalyst Papers as a summer student employee and Island Savings Credit Union, has offered him a unique perspective in stewardship and governance. His desire to participate in efforts to advance the sustainability of his community led to a natural affinity with local leader Dr. Karl Schutz, thus development and co-founder of the Chemainus Monetary Foundation ensued.
Born in Chemainus to a family with strong, local roots, his father and brothers all work for, or have retired from, Catalyst Papers. All members of his family enjoy the outdoors, and Brian is especially fond of fishing, camping and hunting. A former elite level baseball player on nationally ranked college teams in the United States, he now indulges his interests for athletics by participating in local softball leagues – and his new interest in snowboarding – whenever possible. His favorite moments are spent with family and friends.
