Simon Warne began his career in the advertising industry working as a visualiser and illustrator on a diverse range of clients. Moving from one advertising agency to another to work on larger accounts such as, Helly-Hansen, North Sails, Max Factor, Hall & Woodhouse breweries, Taylor Woodrow and OK Industries. In this time he also worked as a design consultant to Vidal Sassoon on their new product design and launch, and worked as an illustrator within one of the approved UK Walt Disney studios.
He then accepted an invitation to build the in-house advertising agency for McCarthy & Stone plc. An EU-wide retirement sector home construction company into an 11 personnel department handling all aspects of promotion, design and production before embarking on a future as a freelance designer.
Since then he has been a partner in two design companies working as art director on a diverse range of accounts including Renault UK, Brookes & Gatehouse, Lewmar Winches, Beaulieu & The National Motor Museum, The Tourism Society, Morgan Sports-cars and Millennium Communications Group. In this time he also worked as a freelance motor journalist writing about and photographing prestigious sports cars for various lifestyle magazines.
Latterly he was a Director and Producer with Silver Productions (film & TV) working with mainly tourism sector clients who advertised on National UK TV.
After 20 years in the advertising industry and as a freelance graphic design consultant in the print, Television and Internet environments he now resides on Vancouver Island and is owner/operator of a Ceramics Cafe while following his passion for all things creative with special attention to the social impact of art & design.
